European Markets for Spinal Fusion Instrumentation Products
Spinal fusion instrumentation is used to augment spinal stability and encourage the process of spinal fusion, a surgical technique that is used to join two or more vertebrae in order to alleviate back pain caused by motion at a vertebral segment. Spinal fusion is performed by surgically exposing the area of the spine to be fused, preparing the exposed bone by removing soft tissue and ligaments so new bone may form over the area, and implanting bone graft material so that new bone may form around and within it. Motion may be prevented by wearing a hard plastic brace or internally immobilizing the vertebrae with instrumentation.
